William Contreras is not going unnoticed at Spring Training and his routine is no less than a walking guide for beginners. The ace catcher has amassed respect out of discipline, dedication, and passion for playing. His teammates are in awe of his zeal to remain at the top of the game.
William Contreras offers a sneak peek at his daily routine
On waking up at 5:30 a.m., William Contreras travels to Brewers’ Complex. Starting with coffee from its cafeteria at 6:00 a.m., he energizes himself for a 2-hour lift, followed by giving a daily briefing to pitchers and catchers by 9 a.m. Then, he moves back to the training area to start his contrast therapy session.
“Why are you here so early?” – Many prospects ask him this. He replies with pride:
“Because I want to be one of the best in The Show.”
He shares while talking to MLB Network.
Around 10 a.m., he starts the batting practice with Jackson Chourio, another rising and shining player. This session has almost become a tradition for the two, a routine they started last year.
Two-time Silver Slugger award winner doesn’t take success for granted
The ace baseball catcher from the Milwaukee Brewers wakes up at 5:30 a.m. and reaches the Brewers complex at 6:00 a.m., though its official opening time is 7:00 a.m. The two-time reigning club MVP boasts with a cheeky smile:
“It’s open for me.”
But, it was not the case earlier. From the days during the first camp with the Brewers in 2023, when he was turned away on reaching before 6:00 a.m., he has come a long way and how.
Contreras believes a lot in teamwork, a quality essential for making a legendary baseball team everyone looks up to. He says:
“I love my teammates – I need to stick with them.”
Contreras shares that he has imbibed this quality from his brother Wilson, who has a glorious history as a catcher.
William Contreras is two-time Silver Slugger Award winner, two-time All-Star, and two-time reigning club MVP and is looked upon by his teammates as a relentless force to reckon with.
