Pahalgam terror attack: Around 50 tourist sites shut in Kashmir amid security concerns | Srinagar News

SRINAGAR: In response to the Pahalgam terror attack, authorities have closed around 50 public parks and gardens situated in vulnerable regions of Kashmir Valley as a safety measure, officials announced on Tuesday.
Of the 87 public parks and gardens in Kashmir, 48 have had their gates closed due to security concerns for tourists.
Officials indicated that the security assessment is continuous, and additional locations could be restricted in the forthcoming days.
The closed tourist destinations are primarily situated in remote areas of Kashmir, including several new attractions that were inaugurated during the past decade.
Tourist access has been restricted to various locations including Dooshpathri, Kokernag, Duksum, Sinthan Top, Acchabal, Bangus valley, Margan Top and Tosamaidan.
Whilst no official directive has been issued, entry to these locations has been physically blocked.
Several Mughal Gardens in south Kashmir have been secured with locked entrances.
This closure of tourist spots follows a tragic incident from a week ago, where terrorists killed 26 people, predominantly tourists, at Baisaran meadows in Pahalgam resort.
