LeBron James’ oldest son, who has been the center of many controversies since joining the Lakers during the 2024 NBA draft, is currently a regular member of the G League team, South Bay Lakers. On the March 23 game, Bronny James scored 39 points against the Santa Cruz Warriors, which the South Bay Lakers won 122-118. This was his career’s highest points scored in the G League, which was previously at 31. And his father, King James, has posted a sweet (and kind of funny) message, encouraging his son to keep going in his career.

After Bronny scored a career-high of 39 points for the South Bay Lakers, his father posted a message writing, “SMILE THROUGH IT ALL YOUNG !!! KEEP GOING!!” This was indicative of the infamous LeBron meme, “Smiling through it all! Can’t believe this is my life.” Many fans were quick to point out that LeBron was poking fun at the six year old meme that has become timeless.
Bronny had recently scored another career high, while playing in the NBA against the Milwaukee Bucks. He scored 17 points for the Los Angeles Lakers, and even though the team did not win against the Bucks, it was a momentous career milestone for the young James. He has been making strides in his career lately, showing his talent on the court, and making his naysayers do an 180.

Bronny James has played 23 games in the NBA this season, averaging 2.3 points, 0.6 rebounds, and 0.6 assists. On the other hand, in the G League he averages 18.7 points, 4.6 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and 1.6 steals, while shooting 42.5% from the field and 32.7% on 3-pointers. He has been an important addition to the South Bay Lakers, but unfortunately, with a 14-17 run, they will not be advancing to the playoffs.
This also means, we could be seeing more of Bronny in the NBA. Quite a few players are missing out on gametime because of injuries, and this is the perfect opportunity for JJ Redick to use Bronny for some play time in the league, as the G League wraps up this week.
