Kate Middleton has always been close to nature. She found comfort in the embrace of Mother Nature and on the occasion of UK Mother’s Day, what better way than to pay tribute to her?
The Princess of Wales marked U.K. Mother’s Day with a touching tribute to Mother Nature. On Sunday, May 30, Kate dropped a video on Instagram and spoke about the role of nature in her family’s journey. She reflected that nature is the family’s ‘sanctuary’ and also stressed the importance of ‘our bond with the natural world’.
The video posted alongside her message mainly features footage of different natural environments across the UK. It also gives a glimpse of her hands touching a tree and of William walking dogs in Norfolk last summer.
“Over the past year, nature has been our sanctuary,” Kate wrote.
She added, “This Mother’s Day, let us celebrate Mother Nature and recognise how our bond with the natural world can help not only nurture our inner selves, but remind us too of the role we play within the rich tapestry of life.”
The message comes months after the princess announced she was in remission following a chemotherapy treatment for cancer. Throughout her health battle, she has frequently spoken about the solace she finds in nature.

Kate revealed her cancer diagnosis in Mar. 2024. In Sep. 2024, she confirmed completing chemotherapy, and said she was ‘cancer free’. The Princess spoke about how it was a ‘relief’ to have finally completed her chemotherapy treatment.
“The last nine months have been incredibly tough for us as a family. Life as you know it can change in an instant and we have had to find a way to navigate the stormy waters and road unknown. The cancer journey is complex, scary, and unpredictable for everyone, especially those closest to you,” she said.

In Jan. 2025 she announced that she was in remission. “It is a relief to now be in remission and I remain focussed on recovery. As anyone who has experienced a cancer diagnosis will know, it takes time to adjust to a new normal. I am however looking forward to a fulfilling year ahead. There is much to look forward to. Thank you to everyone for your continued support,” she said.
Born Catherine Elizabeth Middleton, Kate married Prince William, The Prince of Wales, at Westminster Abbey on 29 April 2011. They have three children together – Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
