TKO Group Holdings, Inc., on the 28th of February 2025, has officially declared that Perth, a city in Australia, will be hosting multiple UFC and WWE shows in the city over the next two years. Announced via a press release, the partnership between TKO and the Western Australian government will bring in a “Weekend Takeover” featuring Friday Night Smackdown and Monday Night Raw, along with UFC returning to Perth with two big events, including the blockbuster Pay-Per-View. Apart from this, the RAC arena will also feature an UFC Fight Night sometime later this year, according to a previously signed agreement between the UFC and the WA government. In total, fans from Perth are in for a treat of five UFC and WWE live events over the next two years.
TKO Group and Western Australian Government Announce Five Major Live Events Over the Next Two Years
The development of this announcement owes its credit to the massive success of UFC 284 and WWE Elimination Chamber that collected almost $50 million, a huge profit for the economy of the country. Along with the dedicated fan base from the state, officials are also expecting out-of-state visitors for these events, which will also benefit the tourism sector of the state.
The Hon. Roger Cook MLA, Premier of Western Australia, stated, “The return of UFC and WWE in 2025 is a major coup for Western Australia, following the roaring success of UFC 284 and WWE Elimination Chamber that collectively injected nearly $50 million into our economy last year. Both UFC and WWE have proven to be huge draw cards with a dedicated fan base, and we expect to see thousands of out-of-state visitors travel to Perth to attend these blockbusters.”
Another major event that pushed for the development of this agreement is the UFC 305, a head-on clash between Du Plessis and Adesanya. This fight was scheduled as part of the two-event agreement that was previously signed between the UFC and the WA government in 2024. The event accounted for a crowd assemble of more than 14000 fans. It broke all the previous records, including the ones of UFC 284: Makhachev vs. Volkanovski, and went on to become the highest-grossing event held at the RAC Arena. The second event under this agreement is the UFC Fight Night, the date and fighters of which are yet to be announced.
